Caring & Sharing

CARING & SHARING PROGRAM - "LITTLE THINGS MEAN A LOT"

Many of us have heard the phrase "Little things mean a lot".  The message implied by that saying is that sometimes seemingly insignificant acts and gestures of caring are the things that solidify a relationship.  This phrase could very well be viewed as a perfect motto for Christian living.  Our Lord instructed us to "love our neighbor".  "A new Commandment I give to you:  Love one another, just as I have loved you." (John 13:34)  Loving one another is best expressed precisely in the "little things" of life.  A greeting card, a word of kindness, a concerned phone call, a sincere and warm smile, an expression of gratitude.  This is the meaning of Caring & Sharing.

The "Caring & Sharing" Program was established in 1997 by Fr. George.  We have worked with many organizations throughout the years and for the last 17 years work exclusively with the Lynn Shelter Association.  In 25 years we have prepared and delivered 1560 food baskets, brought Christmas joy to over 1400 children and served Easter dinner to over 600 people.  The need is not only during the holidays.  Annual Coat drives, collecting donations of "NEW" socks, all of which are distributed to area shelters.  We are constantly asked for help with food.  Almost $50,000 in supermarket gift cards have been distributed since 1997 and the need continues.

Your support will allow us to continue with our work as well as expand this outreach program.  The joy and comfort we have give to these families is because of your generosity.  THANK YOU!
