Beloved parishioners, I welcome you to the Greek School of St. George in Lynn. This information has been put together in order for you to be better informed, regarding the function of our school.

The goal of the Greek Afternoon School is the teaching of the Greek language, as well as other cultural elements such as, liturgical and folk music, folk dances, religion, history and mythology. Emphasis is put on the significance of the Hellenic-Christian education which sets the foundation for our culture.
I pray that this academic year is a blessed and productive one.

Registration

Registration takes place the same week the Lynn Public schools begin. Classes begin the following Monday. The cost for each student, per year, is 250 dollars for members of the parish. The cost for each additional student will be 150 dollars. The cost for non-members is 500 dollars for the first student, and 250 dollars for each additional student. In addition, a student who wishes to attend 1st Grade in the Greek Afternoon School, must have completed 1st Grade in the public schools.

School Schedule

Our school is open Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm for the weekday program and on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm for the weekend program.

Greek School Staff

PRE-KINDERGARTEN & KINDERGARTEN
  Lena Theodorakakos
Miss Theodrakakos is a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher. She's a high school graduate from Greece. She has an associate degree in Business Administration and is a 3rd year student in Early Childhood Education at Salem State College. For the last four years she has been teaching in Lynn Public Schools.
GRADES 1 & 2 Anastasia Giannouli - GRADE 1
Mrs. Giannouli teaches 1st grade. She is a graduate of the School of Philosophy, Education & Psychology of the University of Ioannina in Greece. She has worked as a junior high school teacher in Greece. For 5 years she was working as a Career Counselor for the Municipal Organization for Vocational Training in Volos.
 
  Konstantina Mouzakis - GRADES 1 & 2
Mrs. Mouzakis teaches 1st & 2nd grades and has been a teacher in our school since 1983. She is a high school graduate from Greece.
  Eleni Malliou - GRADE 2
Ms. Malliou teaches 2nd grade. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Applied English Language and Linguistics with English Literature from Kingston University, England. She also holds a Master degree in special education with Psychological Perspective, from the Institute of Education at the University of London.
GRADES 3 & 4 Mrs. Vasiliki - GRADE 3
Bessie Broufas teaches 3rd grade. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Salem state College, Massachusetts. She is a certified teacher and for the last twelve years she has been working as a 5th grade teacher in Salem's public school.
  Fotini Theodorakopoulou GRADES 3 & 4
Mrs. Theodorakopoulou teaches 3rd and 4th grades and has been a teacher in our school since 1976. She is a high school graduate from Greece.
GRADE 5

Maria Meimarides
Mrs. Meimarides teaches 5th grade. She has been a teacher in our School since 1975 and is a high school graduate from Greece.

GRADE 6 Stefania Lymperi
Mrs. Lymperi teaches 6th grade. She is a graduate of the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and she holds a PhD in Biology from Imperial College in London. She has worked as a lecturer to first year students at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. On March 2009 she moved to Boston and she is currently working as a fellow researcher in the Massachusetts General Hospital.
MUSIC Antonis Vatousios   
Mr. Vatousios has been our Greek School music teacher for the last two years. He is working as a middle school music teacher in public schools and holds a Master degree and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate study in Music
